About the Role

We're seeking an IT Operations Manager / Systems Administrator to take ownership of IT infrastructure, security, and operations within a fast-growing analytics and data solutions company.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both strategic planning and hands-on technical work: working closely with senior leadership to shape the IT roadmap while also maintaining a reliable, secure, and high-performance environment.

You'll have the autonomy to make decisions, implement new systems, and play a key role in scaling a high-performing tech environment that supports complex data processing and simulation models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Devise and execute IT operations strategy in partnership with the Managing Director.
  • Oversee hardware procurement, lifecycle management, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Provide general IT operations support, ensuring reliability across internal and cloud-based systems.
  • Maintain and optimise high-performance computing environments.
  • Manage IT security and compliance, working to enhance cyber resilience.
  • Support and improve ETL workflows and data processing pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain automation and scripting tools to streamline workflows.
  • Drive continuous improvement across IT systems, tools, and processes.

  • Proven experience in IT operations, systems administration, or a similar hands-on technical role.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure management, cybersecurity principles, and data workflows.
  • Familiarity with high-performance computing and data-intensive environments is ideal.
  • Strong skills in scripting, automation, and system optimisation.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and proactive mindset.
  • Comfortable working across both strategic and operational levels.
