About the Role
Join JBS Australia in this critical role supporting compliance and governance for our international workforce. As the International Workforce Compliance Specialist, you will lead compliance activities across all subclass visa programs, including the PALM Scheme. This is your opportunity to shape governance frameworks, conduct audits, and build capability across our sites.
Based in our Brisbane CBD office, this role is responsible for leading governance and compliance functions, with a strong focus on audit coordination, compliance controls, and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead governance and compliance functions for all regulatory requirements related to the employment and ongoing compliance of team members working on subclass visas
- Oversee all compliance requirements for the PALM Scheme, including dedicated audits and reporting
- Deliver training and provide ongoing support to site HR teams involved with subclass visa holders
- Conduct comprehensive site audits across all subclass visa programs and implement corrective actions as required
- Monitor legislative and policy changes, updating internal processes accordingly
- Act as the primary point of contact for compliance-related matters for both internal and external stakeholders
About You
You are a compliance-focused professional with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and a keen eye for detail. You bring a proactive, solution-focused approach and understand the importance of effective stakeholder engagement. You will bring:
- Extensive experience in migration compliance, workforce governance, or a related field.
- Qualifications in HR, Law, or Migration (highly regarded)
- Strong understanding of subclass visa programs, sponsor obligations, and PALM Scheme requirements
- Ability to interpret complex legislation and apply compliance requirements effectively
- Proven skills in planning and conducting compliance audits and implementing corrective actions
- Strong communication and influencing skills to engage with internal stakeholders, government departments, and migration agents
- Willingness to travel to regional and remote sites
- Knowledge of the meat processing industry (advantageous)
