About the Role

Our Mechanical team requires experienced mechanics to join our growing vehicle service and repair workshop, this is hands on role is so much more than just parts interpretation and includes inventory/ stock control and scheduling. Must have 1 to 2 years of work experience in a busy workshop.

Main Duties: The position tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Test and repair engines and mechanical parts of lightweight motor vehicles

• Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems

• Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine safety and combustion

control standards

• Detecting and diagnosing faults in engines and parts

• Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and

engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with

pollution regulations

• Dismantling, removing and repairing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering

mechanisms and other components, and checking parts

• Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

• Keeps supplies ready by inventory stock; placing orders; verifying receipt

• Inspect vehicles and detail work required to achieve roadworthiness

-Reassembly of mechanical components post repair and conducting relevant tests to ensure the component is fully operational then making any necessary adjustments and re-testing if required.

• Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed

• Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components and referring to service manuals as needed.

• Ensure all parts, labour and materials used are recorded on vehicle job cards

• Be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions.

• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

• Contribute to team effort by working with others to achieve results as needed.

• Deliver outstanding customer service at all times, ensuring a professional and polite manner when communicating with customers.

Skills and Attributes Required:

• Vehicle Mechanical Trade Qualification (Certificate III/IV)
• Advanced mechanical, electrical (preferred but not essential) and diagnostic capabilities
• The ability to work autonomously and unsupervised coupled with a strong work ethic
• Previous experience coaching and mentoring apprentices and staff
• Tyre fitting, wheel balancing & wheel aligning experience
• Experience with inventory and stock control
• A strong background in scheduling and prioritising of resources and time
• Multi-Linguistic Skills - Ability to communicate in Hindi and/or Punjabi would be an advantage

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $77,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
