Faith Christian School is an accredited Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and we are qualified to offer a variety of nationally recognised vocational courses to supplement the academic program for students in Years 10, 11 and 12.

Affordable courses taught by Christian Trainers.

Not only is Faith's VET program more affordable than comparable commercially offered courses; all of our courses are taught by experienced Christian Trainers through a Christian Worldview.

• Vocational Outdoor Trainer

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Creating and delivering vocational lessons in Outdoor skills and qualifications via face to face intensives and online training.
• Lead intensives training outdoor skills in Abseiling, Rock climbing natural and artificial surfaces, Mountain Bike off rode and maintenance, Snorkel & Basic Water rescues or similar outdoor skills – Travel required
• Maintenance and administration of all School outdoor equipment.
• Marking, assessing, moderating student work and providing tracking & reporting.
• Undertaking study and independent research to ensure you grow in the knowledge of Technology.
• Undertaking study and independent research to ensure you grow in the knowledge Outdoor Education theory and practical skills.
• Maintaining positive Christian connections with families and other staff.
• Reporting to and working closely and in consultation with the RTO Manager.
• Undertake administrative duties related to the Training function.
• Participation in School events held throughout the year.
• Maintaining currency in Outdoor related skills.
• Undertake risk assessments and ensure that Workplace Health & Safety is priority.
• Carrying out any reasonable additional tasks as delegated by the RTO Manager.

Essential Requirements of the Role

• Australian work rights.
• Working With Children Check: current and valid Blue Card (QLD).
• Uphold Faith's Christian values: actively support and promote the Christian ethos and core values of Faith Christian School (Distance Education).
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
• Vocation qualifications in Cert IV in outdoor leadership or higher
• 3 years (recent) demonstrated experience in Outdoor Leadership of groups.
• External Qualifications in a minimum of 3 outdoor skills
• A current QLD Driver's Licence.
• An understanding of and commitment to student wellbeing.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills and high attention to detail.
• Possess intermediate to advanced technical skills, including experience with educational software and ability in using technology in the learning process (to deliver online training).

Highly Regarded:

• External Qualifications in Abseiling, Rock climbing natural and artificial surfaces, Mountain Bike off rode and maintenance, Snorkel & Basic Water rescues
• Demonstrated experience in delivering group practical lessons to School students from Years 10-12.
• Army qualifications recognised

• Salary information: Salaries at Faith are guided by the Educational Services (Schools) Teachers Award and the Educational Services (Schools) General Staff Award and are also determined by experience, qualifications, years of service and registration/qualification. We pay above the Award level.
