Pharmacare Operations is seeking a motivated Project Managerto join our dynamic manufacturing team in Prestons full-time, Monday-to-Friday.

As a Project Manager, you will play a key role in driving the future success of the business through a strong focus on CAPEX forecasting for both short-term and long-term projects. You will also be responsible for overseeing and delivering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are executed on time, within scope, and budget. In addition, the role involves actively monitoring plant operations to identify, propose, and implement process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.

Reporting to the Engineeting & Facilities Manager, your key areas of accountability include, but not limited to:

Project Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering and infrastructure projects from concept to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Develop, review, and approve technical drawings and specifications, ensuring accuracy, compliance with standards, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Manage capital expenditure processes, including budget preparation, business case development, cost tracking, and post-project reviews to maximise return on investment.
  • Project management; manage both large & small CAPEX projects.
  • Create project management plans to capture all tasks, responsibilities, and timelines.
  • Manage teams involved with projects.
  • Provide regular progress updates to manager/team.
  • Address any deviation from project budget or timeline.
  • Liaise with and manage contractors, consultants and any other external parties involved with major projects.
  • Ensure project activities fall in line with cGMP and site quality system requirements.
  • Delivery on time and to budget in compliance with GMP.

Process Improvement & Troubleshooting

  • Play an active role in continuous improvement by monitoring plant OEE.
  • Conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Applying your problem-solving skills to address day-to-day operational challenges.

Engineering Support

  • Create and present feasibility plans and business cases for projects.
  • Support the creation and execution of Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
  • Develop User Requirement Specifications (URS) in collaboration with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and the Product Approval Committee (PAC) when required.
  • Assist the Validation department in the creation and execution of validation protocols.
  • Create and review engineering drawings as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree qualified in an Engineering related discipline.

EXPERIENCE

  • A proven factory production or manufacturing background with minimum of 5 years' experience in Pharmaceutical (preferred)
  • Strong experience in Capital Project Management preferably in a GMP environment.
  • Working knowledge and ability to interpret the Australian Code of GMP
  • A strong awareness of and commitment to safety management
  • Time management, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Driven and energetic personality
  • High level of attention to detail, initiative, and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organisation from shop floor to senior management
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Commitment to Continuous Improvement
  • Good mechanical aptitude and or trouble shooting ability (desirable)
  • Advanced working level with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MRP and/or ERP systems
