About the Role

3 GRAINS is a well-regarded venue in Williamstown known for its Roman-style wood-fired pizzas, pastas and commitment to high-quality, seasonal ingredients. We are seeking a qualified Chef to join our kitchen team full-time. This role involves a broad range of culinary responsibilities, including hot and cold section preparation, wood-fired oven cooking, and maintaining high standards of food presentation and hygiene.

You'll work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to deliver a consistent, high-quality dining experience across our menu. While experience with wood-fired ovens is an advantage, this position is a diverse chef role requiring flexibility and adaptability across all kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook and plate a variety of menu items across hot, cold, and wood-fired sections
  • Operate and maintain the wood-fired oven as part of broader kitchen duties
  • Assist with menu planning, seasonal specials, and recipe development
  • Support food preparation for salads, pastas, mains and desserts
  • Maintain stock rotation, ordering and inventory management
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards
  • Contribute to kitchen organisation, cleanliness and overall efficiency
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and timely communication

About You

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a commercial kitchen or similar chef role
  • Proficient working across multiple sections, including grill, oven, pasta and prep
  • Experience with wood-fired ovens is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of HACCP and Australian food safety standards
  • Reliable, well-organised, and calm under pressure
  • Positive attitude, strong teamwork and communication skills
