We're seeking an experienced Quality Control Coordinator to become a key member of our dynamic QA/QC team. Reporting directly to the QA/QC Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring our steel fabrication processes meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.

This is a hands-on role based in our Wangara office/workshop, with regular visits to sites, suppliers, and subcontractors for inspections.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

  • Preparing and maintaining ITPs, MDRs, Weld Maps, Welding Inspection Requests, and quality documentation in accordance with AS/NZS 5131, AS/NZS 4100, AS/NZS 1554 and other relevant standards
  • Conducting dimensional checks, visual inspections, coating inspections, and welding inspections
  • Monitoring and maintaining Welder Qualifications, WPS, and Qualification Registers
  • Ensuring full traceability of project materials from procurement through fabrication
  • Compiling and managing Manufacturer Data Reports (MDRs)
  • Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Investigating product complaints and quality issues to ensure timely resolution
  • Performing inspections at treatment yards for painting and galvanizing
  • Assisting with internal audits, documentation control, and quality planning across departments

About You

We're looking for someone who brings both technical expertise and a collaborative spirit. Ideally, you'll have:

  • A degree or diploma in a relevant field (Mechanical Engineering preferred but not essential)
  • Certification as a Welding Inspector (CSWIP 3.1) and Coating Inspector (NACE Level 1 or 2) or equivalent
  • IWS/IWT qualifications (highly regarded)
  • Proven experience in steel structural fabrication and quality control
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and industry best practices
  • A professional approach with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • A commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
