Role Details:

• Full-time, on-site position
• Standard hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:30am–5:00pm
• Location: Osborne Park

Qualification:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Quality Control role within manufacturing
• Excellent computer skills, including MS Office and data analysis tools
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain and teach methodologies
• Solid understanding of manufacturing methods, quality management systems, and continuous improvement practices

Core Responsibilities

• The Quality Control & Process Improvement Officer ensures all products meet quality standards while driving initiatives that improve manufacturing efficiency, safety, and consistency.
• Supervise daily production activities, liaise with senior staff, and escalate quality issues promptly.
• Conduct quality testing in line with product requirements, perform regular visual inspections, and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Quality Management System (QMS), participate in training, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Identify and document quality or process issues, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and support root cause analysis.
• Drive process improvement initiatives by analyzing trends, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing solutions using Lean or Six Sigma principles.
• Ensure testing records, batch certificates, and audit trails are accurate, complete, and readily available for review.

Duties & Key Activities

• Ensure full compliance with Quality Management and WHS systems.
• Monitor operator adherence to required quality checks, record-keeping, and processes listed in the Red File.
• Maintain the Testing Room, equipment, and product "Standards" samples in good order.
• Oversee systematic and well-documented product and tooling trials.
• Collaborate with senior staff to ensure production readiness, including shift handover, operator awareness, and workstation cleanliness.
• Proactively suggest and document opportunities for process improvement, whether in testing procedures, documentation, or manufacturing practices.
• Facilitate feedback loops between production and management to improve workflow, reduce downtime, and enhance product quality.
• Support a culture of continuous improvement by participating in regular reviews of QMS effectiveness and recommending efficiency gains.

Nice to have

• Experience with quality within an injection molding environment.
• 3D modelling experience.

This role is not limited to compliance-it requires active contribution to ongoing process improvement. The Quality Control & Process Improvement Officer expected to:

• Look beyond defects to identify systemic causes of inefficiencies.
• Promote best practices that improve product quality, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
• Provide written suggestions via SIR forms and participate in evaluating their merit.
