While our kitchen delivers satisfying culinary delights, it's the melodious allure of iconic jazz performances and the inviting ambiance of our well-curated bar that truly define the quintessential Bird's Basement experience.

The Role:

We are searching for a Floor Supervisor & Head Waiter to lead FOH service. You'll be instrumental in ensuring that the initial and lasting impression is positive, and that our guests experience the exceptional service for which we're renowned, right from their first step into our venue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and Welcome: Ensure all guests are welcomed warmly and assisted promptly.

  • Lead Table Service: Efficiently manage table service, premium package deliverables, seating, and the VIP experience;

  • Supervise and train section waiters in the service delivery standards expected at Bird's, enhancing service deliverables and growing your team's competency;

  • Customer Interaction: Engage with customers professionally, ensuring all inquiries and communication are handled with grace and efficiency.

  • Administrative: Manage POS systems, Rostering, Timesheets & reporting competently.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Appearance: Impeccable grooming and a consistent, warm smile.

  • Communication: Excellent communication skills in English.

  • Customer Service: Proven experience in a lead waiting role, with the ability to manage section waiters and FOH service effectively.

  • F&B Experience: Proven history in managing floor waiters and section teams in busy restaurants, with preference for those with extended roles in fine dining restaurants.

  • IT Skills: Basic IT acumen, with ability to manage the detail in POS systems and troubleshoot minor IT issues.

  • Working Hours: Availability to work from 5:30pm to 11:30pm, Wednesday - Saturday nights, with full working rights in Australia
