Operational Support Officer

Location : Wollongong, Australia

Description

As an Operational Support Officer, you will support the delivery of superannuation services by performing a range of administrative and operational tasks.

This role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in superannuation administration, including recent graduates.

Job specification

  • Perform and coordinate a variety of administrative tasks across superannuation operations

  • Maintain adviser records and process fees in accordance with Apex procedures

  • Execute ATO-mandated tasks including Unclaimed Super Monies and Lost Member processing

  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and support platform enhancements

  • Investigate and resolve exceptions to ensure service delivery meets quality, SLA, and compliance standards

  • Assist in identifying and implementing improvements to processes and systems

  • Support reporting activities and contribute to service performance assessments

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations

Skills Required:

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to investigate and resolve issues

  • Understanding of superannuation administration processes (preferred)

  • Ability to work effectively within a team and with external stakeholders

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving ability

  • Prior experience in superannuation or financial services (preferred but not essential)

  • Formal superannuation qualifications or willingness to complete RG146 within 12 months

  • Familiarity with superannuation technology platforms (e.g. Acurity) is advantageous

  • Commitment to delivering high-quality client service

  • Willingness to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
