Project Engineer – Security Camera

Due to the current expansion of the business to the commercial and industrial sector, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer to oversee and manage the technical and operational aspects of our security camera and communication systems installation projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, execution, and final delivery of projects, ensuring they meet client requirements, regulatory standards, and company expectations.

This role involves working with a cross-functional team including technicians, contractors, suppliers, and clients, and requires a balance of technical expertise, project coordination, and client communication.

Key Responsibilities:

Initial Duties and Onboarding Responsibilities:

· Gain comprehensive knowledge of company products, services, and typical system architectures (CCTV, intercoms, data points, satellite, access control).

· Review project documentation, past installations, and current client portfolios.

· Conduct site visits under supervision to observe active installations and learn field procedures.

· Familiarize with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., AS/NZS 2201, building codes, OH&S practices).

· Attend internal and external project planning meetings and technical training sessions.

Ongoing Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Coordination

· Review project scope, drawings, specifications, and schedules.

· Develop detailed work plans and task breakdowns for field teams.

· Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.

· Identify technical and resource requirements for each project phase.

2. Site Management & Execution

· Supervise on-site installations of CCTV, access control, data cabling, intercom, and related systems.

· Conduct or assist with field surveys, measurements, and layout planning.

· Monitor daily site progress and report deviations from plan or quality standards.

· Ensure installation work is done according to manufacturer instructions, safety regulations, and client expectations.

3. Technical Support & Documentation

· Provide technical support and troubleshooting guidance to technicians and installers.

· Prepare installation documentation such as drawings, schematics, test reports, and as-built records.

· Assist in system commissioning, integration testing, and handover procedures.

4. Client & Stakeholder Communication

· Act as a point of contact for clients during installation and commissioning phases.

· Conduct technical briefings, site walkthroughs, and status updates.

· Document change requests and client approvals for scope adjustments.

5. Quality Assurance & Safety

· Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures on all projects.

· Enforce safety procedures and perform risk assessments at project sites.

· Conduct post-installation reviews and implement continuous improvements.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $80,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
