As part of our continued growth and commitment to excellence, we are seeking an organised and proactive Purchasing Officer.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for supply chain professionals who thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments and are passionate about ensuring the smooth delivery of high-volume processing.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain business objectives for assurance of supply, quality, service, and compliance with purchasing policies and processes (including P2P).
- Evaluate and process purchase requests, quotations, and orders, ensuring use of approved vendors.
- Manage the rotable asset cycle, including NCRs, repairs, and replenishment to meet operational demand.
- Ensure accurate data entry and record-keeping within the MFAIS system (including drawings, quotes, and order confirmations).
- Review and authorise order/invoice discrepancies and facilitate timely supplier payments.
- Monitor and expedite purchase orders to satisfy demand, including daily review of inventory and outstanding orders.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fleet engineers, operations, and stores throughout the purchase-to-payment process.
- Maintain accurate master data, update lead times, min/max levels, safety stock, delivery dates, and vendor information.
- Proactively share information, solve supply problems effectively, and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
About you
- Purchasing or supply chain experience, ideally in rail or a similar industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing processes, forecasting, and replenishment principles (consumable, inventory, and rotables).
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience adhering to policies and procedures in a high-compliance environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and record-keeping abilities.
