The Group operates within the insurance intermediary sector, providing insurance broking, underwriting agency, post claim rehabilitation, investigation, and loss adjusting to small and medium enterprise businesses.

AUB Group (ASX: AUB) is looking for a Senior Financial Manager to support its Group Financial Control team in the Finance Systems space. The role will be predominantly responsible for ensuring that key finance systems (including the general ledger, and consolidation system) are running effectively, managing master data and investigating system issues /queries.

As part of ongoing improvements to AUB's finance systems landscape, the role will initially heavily involve project work supporting specification, testing and implementing changes as AUB replaces its general ledger. The project work associated with this is expected to last for 12-18 months. Once complete, it is expected that the management of the general ledger will transition to BAU activity.

The role will also focus on necessary improvements to AUB's consolidation system, involving a review of existing processes and recommendations for standardisation and enhancements.

Reporting to the Head of Group Finance, the Senior Finance Manager role is a dynamic position requiring a broad skillset, extensive technical ability and a high performer. The role's key responsibilities include:

• Replacement of existing general ledger which we anticipate will consume approximately 70% of initial time with the remainder for enhancements to the consolidation system and business as usual support activity.
• Responsible for the Finance Systems landscape enabling the Finance team to operate in a controlled and ever evolving environment as new technologies are used to enhance both control and efficiency.

Additionally, you will likely be involved in the following activities:

• Lead on the work to replace the general ledger and all associated integrations
• Day to day maintenance and monitoring of core Finance systems
• Run month and year end system processes and own related controls.
• Implement and maintain control reporting between systems to ensure accuracy and consistency of information.
• Maintain and manage master data and integrations of the systems.
• Provide user system training and problem solving to the Finance team.
• Investigate system issues/queries, with escalation to relevant software support providers as required.
• Ownership of the Finance Systems budget and relationships with vendors.
• Co-ordination with system support providers and IT to deliver patches, upgrades, new functionality and fixes, including managing testing and implementation schedules
• Development of end user manuals or system documentation when appropriate.
• Work with auditors on the annual audits to cover off system specific requests.

Ideally, we would be looking for someone who has exposure to the following:

• 10+ years' experience in the financial services industry, including at least 5 years' experience specifically in finance systems roles.
• Strong co-ordination skills to supporting system enhancement and maintenance work.
• Must have an appreciation of core accounting principles, practices and controls.CA qualification is ideal but not essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills across a variety of audiences
• Analytical and strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Power BI, Adaptive Insights, SUN Systems and Tagetik is highly desirable.
