At Kongsberg Defence Australia (KDAu) we work on cutting-edge projects in collaboration with global teams and customers. We are currently seeking a skilled IT Support Officer to join our team.

Our Newcastle office is in it's exciting early days, and the IT Support Officer will play a key role in setting up systems, supporting the team and ensuring our technology is ready to grow with us.

About the Role

As an IT Support Officer, you will:

  • Install, configure, maintain, and support IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and end-user devices.
  • Provide Level 1 and 2 technical support, including troubleshooting, updates, and user assistance.
  • Support the integrity, security, and performance of KDAu ICT systems, including data backups, disaster recovery, and incident response.
  • Assist in planning, developing, and maintaining IT infrastructure, business continuity plans, and process documentation.
  • Provide input into future technology requirements and ICT infrastructure topology in collaboration with KDA IT.
  • Support ICT procurement and vendor/service provider management.
  • Manage ICT issues and incidents, ensuring timely resolution and post-incident analysis.
  • Implement and maintain security measures, audits, and assessments in line with corporate security frameworks.

What You'll Bring

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related field.
  • Industry / vendor certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, VMWare and Cisco (desirable).
  • Previous experience providing user administration support.
  • Knowledge of business needs and related IT matters.
  • Deep understanding of IT Infrastructure.
  • Understanding of Australian Security requirements relating to ICT and Cyber security.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Must be able to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms Regulations (ITAR).
