About the role

We're looking for an experienced Estimator to join our Brisbane office, supporting insurance-related residential, commercial, and strata building works. This is a fast-paced, detail-oriented role where you'll apply your deep construction knowledge to assess damage, prepare reports, and support our projects with accuracy and care.

As a key technical contributor, you'll conduct onsite and desktop assessments, prepare scope of works and quotes, and liaise with clients, contractors, and engineers to ensure projects progress smoothly. Your expertise in building standards, policy interpretation, and problem solving will help guide our insurance works to successful completion.

Key role responsibilities include:

• Preparing accurate reports, scopes of work and quotes for insurance claims

• Reviewing specialist and engineering reports to determine causation and policy response

• Differentiating between pre-existing and event-related damage

• Communicating effectively with stakeholders including insured parties, engineers, and contractors

• Assisting with minor make-safe works during onsite visits where required

• Understanding and applying relevant WHS, NCC, and BCA requirements

• Supporting construction teams with variation submissions and scope clarifications

• Maintaining updated records and supporting client service teams with escalations or reporting

• Performing quality control audits and identifying areas for continuous improvement

Skills

To be successful in this role you will have to:

• Sound knowledge of WHS standards and the NCC/BCA

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Strong numeracy and report writing skills

• Ability to problem-solve and manage competing deadlines

• Solid computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel

• Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, respectful approach

• Physical capability to access confined areas, roof cavities, etc.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the construction industry

• Previous experience in residential insurance estimating (desirable)

• Trade qualification or tertiary qualifications in building or construction

• Working at Heights and First Aid (desirable)

• Ability to pass background checks, and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening

• Valid Construction Induction Card (White Card)

• Current driver's license
