About Us

Abergeldie is a majority locally owned contractor with 30 years' industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors. Projects include dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment process facilities, rail infrastructure, mining infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation: the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Queensland team This role will be based at our Northgate office (with onsite parking available).

As an Estimator at Abergeldie, you will play a key role in tendering across civil and water infrastructure. You'll prepare high-quality estimates that reflect scope, identify risks and opportunities and provide value engineering solutions. This is a chance to work on diverse projects that deliver real and lasting benefits to local communities.

Key responsibilities include

  • Reviewing tender documentation, ensuring scope and requirements are accurately captured.
  • Preparing cost estimates, schedules and methodologies.
  • Coordinating subcontractor and supplier packages.
  • Preparing tender documentation for internal review.
  • Supporting post-tender reviews and client engagement.

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction or a related field.
  • Estimating experience in civil infrastructure or water infrastructure.
  • Ability to take ownership of your own tenders while contributing to team bids.
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Australian contract specifications and estimating software.
