These roles are ideal for individuals who are passionate about student wellbeing, cultural diversity and community building.
Our Resident Support Officers play a key part in ensuring students feel welcome, supported, and safe in their living environment. This role is about pastoral care, student engagement, and wellbeing support.
You will be part of a team that provides calm, capable and compassionate support to students from diverse local and international backgrounds. Your work will involve engaging with students, supporting wellbeing, monitoring the environment, and liaising with site partners and university services.
We are seeking individuals open to working overnight shifts on casual basis, across weekdays & weekends.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Building rapport with students through positive, friendly engagement
- Providing after-hours support and responding to wellbeing concerns
- Conducting presence-based walkthroughs (not enforcement or surveillance)
- Assisting with student lockouts, enquiries, or amenity access
- Coordinating with on-call emergency or security services where needed
- Logging incidents and updates in reporting systems
- Supporting the delivery of engagement and community-building initiatives
- Liaising with university staff and residential life teams
- Light administrative and concierge-style responsibilities
What We're Looking For:
- Prior experience in Allied Health, Education, Community Services, Multicultural Support, Student Support or Youth Services.
- Previous experience working in a role that required exceptional customer service
- Previous experience completing written reports
- Proficient with IT
- Willingness to learn and develop
Alongside the above requirements, we also require individuals to currently have or be willing to obtain the below licenses & certifications prior to starting the role.
- TAS Security License
- Nationally Accredited First Aid & CPR certification
- TAS Responsible Service of Alcohol license (RSA)
- TAS Working with Vulnerable People Check (WWVP)
