The roleWe're seeking an experienced Venue Manager ready to take ownership of one of Richmond's great pubs and lead it into its next chapter.You'll:

  • Lead from the floor: set the tone, pace and standard of the venue.
  • Mentor and motivate your team of AVMs, Duty Managers and seasoned hospo professionals.
  • Build a culture of consistency, confidence and care.
  • Partner with our Executive Chef, Events & Marketing Manager and Operations team to plan activations, social content and seasonal launches.
  • Deliver results across wages, GP and forecasting, while maintaining the warmth and detail that keep guests coming back.
  • Keep the venue safe, compliant and humming.

You're not stuck behind a laptop, you're on the floor, leading from the front.

We're building momentum, and this role will shape where the Rising Sun goes next.

About you

  • At least 5 years' management experience in quality hospitality venues (essential).
  • A natural leader; calm under pressure, clear in communication, and committed to your people's growth.
  • Passionate about hospitality trends and developing proactive revenue streams.
  • Financially literate, organised, and forward-thinking.
  • WSET Level 2 or 3 preferred; curiosity essential.
  • You bring energy, presence and pride to every shift.
  • Knowledge across, OpenTable, OrderMate with strong email etiquette

The team around youYou'll be well supported by hands-on Directors, a dedicated Operations Manager and CFO for budgeting & forecasting, HR collaboration when needed, an Event & Marketing Manager, and an Executive Chef leading a tight, experienced kitchen.

What we're offering

  • Full-time (38 hours) under the Publican.Co Enterprise Agreement 2023/2024
  • $90,000 – $105,000 + super (based on experience)
