Position Summary:
Are you a results-driven Business Development professional with experience in international logistics and freight forwarding?
We're working with a US-headquartered global freight forwarder that entered the Australian market through the acquisition of a local provider in late 2021. With robust global infrastructure, advanced technology, and a strong local footprint, they are expanding their presence and seeking a Business Development Manager (or Senior BDM) to lead new client acquisition across New South Wales.
This is a fully remote role based in Sydney, offering autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to leverage a globally integrated logistics network including Sea Freight, Airfreight, Customs Clearance, Domestic Transport, Warehousing and more.
Key Responsibilities:

New Business Development: Identify and win new clients across import/export, air, sea, and cross-border freight services.

Client Relationship Management: Build long-term partnerships by understanding client needs and delivering tailored logistics solutions.

Tailored Logistics Solutions: Work with local and global teams to develop cost-effective, end-to-end freight solutions.

Sales Process Management: Lead client meetings, prepare and deliver compelling presentations, respond to RFQs/tenders, and maintain accurate CRM records.

Market Intelligence: Stay informed on industry trends and competitor activity to support business growth and strategy.

Team Collaboration: Coordinate with operations, customs, finance, and international teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
About You:

A minimum of 5 years' experience in business development, sales, or client management within international freight forwarding.

Proven track record of securing new business and managing complex logistics accounts.

Strong understanding of Air and Sea Freight, Customs processes, and Domestic Transport in Australia.

Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.

Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings or team sessions.
