The role

Respond to access to information requests in full compliance with the Government Information (Public Access) Act (GIPA).

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Manage open access requests made in accordance with the Government Information (Public Access) Act ensuring compliance with Council policies in respect of same.
• Apply efficient processes for tracking Access to Information requests.
• Provide timely response to requests received.
• Other duties as directed by Coordinator or Manager Governance.

Essential Qualifications and or Experience

• Business Administration Certificate or equivalent
• Experience in responding to access to information requests in accordance with the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009.
• Previous experience using an electronic records and document management system.
• Previous experience using large format scanners and other scanning devices.
• Strong and effective communication skills.
• Ability to plan and prioritise work.
• Good attention to detail.
• Strong computer literacy.
• Ability to build effective interpersonal relationships.
• Good working knowledge of the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act and the Local Government Act

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $77,261 (Grade E, Step1) + 12% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
