to join our team and ensure the smooth financial operations of our business.

About the Role

As Senior Bookkeeper, you will play a key role in managing the company's day-to-day financial activities and ensuring compliance with Australian accounting and reporting standards. You will work closely with management, operations and external stakeholders to provide accurate financial insights and support decision-making in a dynamic shipping and logistics environment.

The successful applicant must
reside in Australia. Reporting directly to CEO
, the responsibilities of the successful applicant will include, but are not limited to the following:

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for capturing monthly journals
  • Ensure all accounts receivable, payable and cash book entries have been recorded for the month
  • Preparation and lodgement of BAS, PAYG and superannuation
  • Liaise with service provider on weekly/monthly payroll and superannuation processing and recording it in the general ledger
  • Monthly general ledger reconciliations
  • Month-end and year-end reporting support, including liaising with external accountants/auditors
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Registers
  • Management of cash flow and monitoring of operational expenditure
  • Support management with financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Ensure compliance with ATO requirements and company policies
  • Maintain accurate records and implement process improvements where needed

Experience and skills

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in bookkeeping
  • Solid understanding of GST, BAS, and Australian tax obligations
  • High attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A formal certification (i.e. Bachelor's/Certificate or similar) in Accounting/Bookkeeping
