About the role

Moduplay Group Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Head of Design & Engineering to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time position based in Unanderra, NSW. As the Head of Design & Engineering, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the design and development of our innovative playground equipment and structures. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the company's growth and delivering exceptional products to our customers.

What you'll be doing

  1. Manage and coordinate the growing design team to ensure efficient and timely delivery of design projects
  2. Develop and implement design strategies that align with the company's overall objectives
  3. Oversee the design process, from concept development to final product specifications
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, construction and production, to ensure design integrity and feasibility
  5. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to inform design decisions
  6. Continuously seek opportunities to improve design processes and enhance product quality
  7. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the design team
  8. Manage design-related budgets and resources effectively, including regular reporting on design and engineering team metrics

  5. Minimum 5 years of experience in a design management role, preferably within the outdoor recreation industry, and/or manufacturing, fabrication or engineering industries
  6. Strong technical skills in design software including CAD and Graphics
  7. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  8. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
  9. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  10. Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards
  11. Proven track record of delivering high-quality design projects on time and within budget
