At Thriving Kids Occupational Therapy, we're passionate about helping children reach their full potential. Based in Shellharbour and serving families across the Illawarra, we offer holistic, family-centred support for children aged 0–18 years. Our growing practice is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team.

You'll be supported by our owner-director and head clinician, Belinda van Wel, and work across clinic, home, educational, and community settings. We offer flexible work arrangements, including remote admin options and adaptable hours. Part-time applicants are warmly encouraged to apply.


Qualifications & Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy (minimum: Bachelor's degree)
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Valid Working with Children Check and Police Check
  • Driver's licence and access to a vehicle for mobile sessions
  • Confidence in assessing and supporting children and adolescents with diverse developmental and functional needs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Commitment to neuroaffirming, strengths-based practice

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and their families
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to grow professionally
  • Passion for paediatric therapy and family engagement
  • Familiarity with NDIS frameworks and processes

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessing children's participation and functional capacity across home, school, and leisure environments
  • Conducting clinical observations and standardised assessments
  • Collaborating with families, educators, and other professionals to set meaningful goals
  • Designing and delivering neuroaffirming intervention plans
  • Providing therapy in clinic and mobile settings (e.g. home, school, childcare, community)
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and communication
  • Engaging in ongoing supervision and professional development
