Salary and Features of the Position
- Salary range: $110,000 – $150,000 + super (depending on experience)

About the Position
Our client is seeking an experienced Immigration Lawyer to join their team in Sydney, located in the CBD on Castlereagh Street. You will work closely with a senior Immigration Partner based in the firm's Queensland office, receiving full support and direction from a team highly regarded in the migration and visa space.
The firm's Immigration team is known for handling a broad range of complex migration and visa matters, with services including business migration, employer-sponsored visas, and visa cancellations or appeals. You will advise individuals, professionals, and business clients, guiding them through every stage of their immigration journey.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Immigration Lawyer who enjoys autonomy but wants the support and resources of a national practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a busy caseload of business, skilled and family visa applications
- Provide strategic advice on complex immigration issues, including cancellations and refusals
- Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies and government departments
- Prepare and lodge visa applications and supporting documentation
- Support appeals and merits review proceedings when required
- Work collaboratively with a cross-state team and a Partner with deep immigration expertise
Key Requirements
- Minimum 3 years PAE in Australian immigration and visa law
- Strong understanding of visa pathways, tribunal processes and legislative updates
- Ability to manage files independently from start to finish
- High attention to detail and strong drafting skills
- Registered with OMARA (or eligible for registration)
- Confident communicator with strong client relationship skills
- Compassionate, pragmatic approach to sensitive client matters
