Bothar is a leader in Australia's trenchless construction industry, delivering major pipelines, microtunnelling, and civil infrastructure projects across Australia and internationally. We are known for our technical capability, practical engineering approach and a strong focus on delivering work safely, collaboratively and to a consistently high standard.

We have a steady pipeline of trenchless and civil works across NSW and are seeking a Safety Supervisor to support safe delivery across current and upcoming projects in the region.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, this site-based role supports day-to-day safety activities, assists site teams and ensures compliance across Bothar and subcontractor operations.

The work environment is fast-paced and evolving, with periods where extended hours, weekend work or night shift coverage may be required depending on stage of construction. This position is suited to someone who is practical, steady under pressure and confident providing safety guidance in live work environments.

Relocation support can be considered for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

·       Support daily pre-starts, toolbox talks and on-site safety communication

·       Conduct safety walks and ensure corrective actions are closed out

·       Coordinate and sign off permits (e.g., confined space and working at heights)

·       Review Bothar and subcontractor SWMS / JSAs for compliance and risk control

·       Lead or support incident response and investigations, including ICAM where required

·       Maintain training and competency records and ensure required competencies are current

·       Attend subcontractor progress meetings and liaise with the client's safety and environmental teams

·       Assist in developing and maintaining HSEQ management plans, risk assessments and emergency response plans

What We're Looking For

· years' experience in a safety-focused role on civil or infrastructure projects

·       Experience working with tier-1 delivery partners and subcontractor safety coordination

·       Exposure to high-risk environments such as tunnelling, shafts or utilities is beneficial but not essential

·       Cert IV or higher in Work Health and Safety

·       ICAM / lead auditor training (preferred)

·       Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and build trust on site

·       Practical, steady under pressure and solutions-focused
