Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Great Southern Bank Full time $60,000 - $90,000 per year

As the Payroll Officer you ensure team members are paid accurately, on time and in accordance with the relevant legislation and regulations. You will provide advice and support to internal customers and escalate more complex matters as required, to ensure queries are resolved on time and in line with agreed service levels.

This position is open to candidates located in Brisbane, offering you the flexibility to work from home two days a week.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for fortnightly payroll processing being completed accurately, correctly and on-time.
  • Ensure all employee files are accurate and current to deliver payroll services that is correct and current.
  • Complete end to end payroll processing to ensure team members are paid for their contribution to the Bank.
  • Complete end of month reporting including payments to the ATO for Group tax, super clearing house and reconciliation of General ledger accounts.
  • Prepare and submit payments to third parties for employee pay deductions (i.e.: child support, salary sacrifice).

Do things differently with us
To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in a full function, fast paced Payroll Officer role.
  • Strong demonstrated skills and experience using MS Excel, formulas, pivot tables and Word documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and application of techniques to ensure data accuracy.
  • Strong knowledge and application of current legislation.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Familiar with the iChris Payroll system is desirable.
