Company Description

Kashcade is an Aussie Fintech that lends to early-stage companies working on innovative technologies – companies attempting to pull off the impossible, like curing disease, turning waste into produce, building humanoid robots, or advancing artificial intelligence.

We exist because we know these companies need funding, and we've found a founder-friendly way to do it: by bringing forward an annual tax refund they receive each year. In doing so, we're ensuring they have access to the funds needed to continue investing in R&D and their business more broadly, and we get repaid safely.

Kashcade was founded in 2022 by CEO, Alex (ex-Commbank business lending strategist and management consultant) and CTO, Patrick (ex-Apple software engineer): both being long-time start-up enthusiasts looking to combine their experience in finance and technology to bring a new business to life.

The Kashcade team is small and tight-knit. Our Head of Customer, Josh, was previously a chemical engineer who loved working with innovative companies and has a passion for numbers. Software developer, Raith, hails from NZ and supports our CTO, Pat. Also from NZ, Mat is an avid surfer with a background in banking. James (Finance & Credit consultant) and Katie (supports in marketing execution) pop in and out, and we have a small board who are experienced in building businesses and like to get hands-on from time to time to help turbocharge things.

We're a pretty casual bunch – the T-shirt and jeans-wearing types – and balance our drive to build the business with the fun of life.

Since founding, Kashcade has raised millions in venture capital from successful founders and venture investors, and tens of millions from private credit and equity funds for lending to customers. We've seen extreme growth in our first few years, deploying tens of millions of dollars to hundreds of Aussie start-ups. However,

we haven't yet built a marketing function to intentionally build awareness, communicate our brand, and establish a presence.

Job Description

We're now hiring a Senior Marketing Manager to build our marketing function by shaping and executing a holistic marketing strategy. This is a new and critical role: you'll work directly with Alex (the CEO), and Josh and Mat (from the customer-facing part of the team), own a broad remit, and play a central role in scaling the business.

You'll be responsible for marketing across the board, including:


• Building Kashcade's marketing function, pretty much from scratch


• Marketing strategy and execution across channels (digital, content, events, partnerships, and quirky, unique initiatives)


• Digital marketing, including paid advertising (e.g. LinkedIn, Google), SEO and analytics


• Managing content and comms (e.g. customer case studies, media outreach, and disseminating our annual research report)


• Maintaining and improving websites, landing pages, and LinkedIn (in collaboration with our dev team)


• Creating and attending industry events, helping grow our in-person presence


• Managing brand and messaging, ensuring consistency across channels


• Testing and scaling new marketing ideas (e.g. competitions, unique assets, press campaigns)


• You'll also help shape how Kashcade tells its story to the ecosystem – helping us reach more innovative companies and amplify our impact.

Qualifications

Below are suggested qualifications, but we are open-minded about non-linear paths.

Basic requirements:


• 5+ years' experience in marketing


• Experience in digital strategy and execution


• Strong writing and content skills (copy, brand voice, and asset development)


• Organised and independent with the ability to manage multiple projects


• Growth-oriented mindset: curious, creative, data-driven, action-oriented

Preferred experience:


• Experience in start-ups, fintech, or financial services


• Exposure to startup ecosystems (either as a founder, operator or via VC/accelerators, or otherwise)


• Confidence using software tools for efficiency (e.g. CRMs, Webflow, ChatGPT)

• Strategic but completely willing to be hands-on
