Administrative Assistant Respiratory Laboratory - Department of Respiratory & Sleep Medicine

  • Full-Time fixed Term Maternity leave cover until 19 Sept 2026

About the Role
You will be responsible for providing a range of reception/clerical and administrative support to the Respiratory Laboratory and its team.

You will be responsible for providing administrative assistance to patients and staff from the Asthma Clinic.

  • Provide timely and professional reception for all phone calls and visitors to the Department

  • Maintain and provide a high level of customer service and professional standards at all times

  • Manage phone enquires and doorbell for the unit reception desk

  • Ensure all reception area equipment and resources are maintained

  • Manage diary for the Respiratory Laboratory

The classification for this position is HS21 - Grade 2 Level 5 ($59,049 per annum).

Your Contribution
  • You are a dynamic, highly motivated Administrative Assistant with the drive to become an important member of the Respiratory & Sleep Medicine team.

  • You will have well-developed communication and organisational skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision in a team environment. 

  • You will have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office packages with experience in medical terminology. Previous office experience in a health setting would be advantageous. 

  • A Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine

The Department of Respiratory & Sleep Medicine provides a comprehensive service in all aspects of the investigation and management of respiratory and sleep disorders, including the full range of lung function testing, bronchoscopy service, home and lab sleep studies. 

Special interests include the management of asthma and chronic airways disease, alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency, lung cancer, interstitial lung disease, tuberculosis and other infectious respiratory conditions.
