About Us:
Established in 1993, Townsend Building Services is an award-winning, building and construction industry expert delivering projects Australia-wide. A family business, we started out as a partner to insurance companies like Alliance and Westpac, assisting clients with catastrophic repairs. In 2017 we created a new "Facilities" department to focus on retirement village projects for organisations such as Aveo, Levande, Retire Australia, Carinity, Resthaven, ECH, and Eldercare, and are doubling our revenue in this area every year. On the back of this growth, in October 2024 we took the Facilities department and turned it into a new company called Taylor Building & Renovation Services (TBRS).
With teams based in NSW, Victoria, South Australia, and Queensland, we offer nation-wide services and won FBA's Australian Family Business of The Year Award (second generation) for the quality of our offerings.

About the Role
We have one vacancy for a talented and highly driven individual with a solid background in the estimating within the building and construction industry, looking to take on a management role in an office-based position, to lead our Internal Estimating Team based at TBRS head office in beautiful Burleigh Heads.
Desktop Estimating at TBRS involves preparing and submitting quotes based on supplied information captured by an onsite Estimator.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Allocating work to a team of 4 internal estimators and overseeing the preparation of quotations based on Scope of Works provided by external Estimators and client project managers.
- Analysing quote success data and working with the GM and CEO to make adjustments that lead to improved performance.
- Work with GM to set and constantly monitor national pricing levels.
- Working with the People and Culture Manager to drive a culture of continuous growth and development within the team.
- Managing time and resources to ensure timely completion and submission of all required documentation.
- Communicating with other department managers and staff to ensure accuracy of documentation.
- Establishing and maintaining close working relationships with client project managers.
To Be Successful in This Role You Need:
- Trade qualification (preferably in carpentry or joinery)
- A solid understanding of estimation within building & construction.
- Confident with technology and comfortable learning new systems.
- An excellent understanding of pricing.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet critical deadlines.
- Ability to mentor and lead a team of dedicated estimators.
