Swanky Socks is a fast-growing international retail company located in both Australia and the United Kingdom. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our dynamic in-house team and support us in our continued growth.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day financial transactions and support our finance function. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth operations across both our Australian and UK branches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in formulating budgetary and accounting policies
  • Prepares financial statements for boards of directors, management, shareholders, and governing and statutory bodies
  • Conducts financial investigations, prepares reports, undertaking audits and advises on matters such as the purchase and sale of businesses, mergers, capital financing, suspected fraud, insolvency and taxation
  • Examines operating costs and income and expenditure
  • Provides assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and compliance with statutory requirements
  • Provides financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans and operations
  • Prepares tax returns
  • Manages funds
  • Introduces and maintains accounting systems, and advises on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems
  • Maintains internal control systems
  • May appraise cash flow and financial risk of capital investment projects
  • Handle customer account-related enquiries.
  • Maintain an inventory accounting.
  • Assist with office administration work.

  • Support the management team with ad-hoc reporting and data analysis as required

  • Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience with Dynamics, Xero, Shopify and HubSpot.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • A flexible and adaptable individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment
