Role Overview:
The OSS Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and operational oversight for
Operations Support Systems (OSS)
in telecom environments. This includes managing service assurance, incident resolution, and system optimization across network platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide L1/L2/L3 support for OSS applications and telecom network systems.
- Resolve complex technical issues escalated from lower support tiers.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of OSS platforms.
- Service Assurance & Operations
- Lead OSS service assurance initiatives for projects such as FoF (Future of Fibre).
- Conduct impact assessments, design reviews, and deployment planning.
- Support replatforming and data migration activities.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with engineering domains, infrastructure teams, and vendors.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and support.
- System Administration
- Manage Linux/Unix environments and middleware components.
- Maintain system configurations, logs, and documentation.
- Continuous Improvement
- Drive service improvement initiatives and automation strategies.
- Contribute to engineering process enhancements and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years in OSS support or telecom engineering roles.
- Strong knowledge of OSS platforms, network management systems, and service assurance tools.
- Experience with Linux/Unix, middleware, and scripting (e.g., Shell, Python).
- Familiarity with telecom protocols and network architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
