We are seeking a skilled
Packet Core Engineer
with strong hands-on experience in
Ericsson (E///) Packet Core solutions
to join our Sydney team. The role will be responsible for designing, integrating, optimizing, and supporting mobile core network elements with a focus on
Evolved Packet Core (EPC)
and
5G Core
technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable mobile data services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and implement
    E/// Packet Core nodes
    (MME, SGSN, PGW, SGW, PCRF, SMF, UPF, etc.).
  • Support
    EPC and 5G Core deployments
    , expansions, and upgrades.
  • Perform network integration, troubleshooting, and fault resolution across core network elements.
  • Conduct capacity planning, performance monitoring, and optimization of core nodes.
  • Ensure
    high availability and service continuity
    through proactive monitoring and incident management.
  • Collaborate with vendors (Ericsson, Cisco, Nokia, etc.) and internal teams on solution delivery and issue resolution.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation including design, configurations, and operational guidelines.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers when required.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–6+ years of experience
    in Packet Core Engineering, with hands-on work on
    Ericsson (E///) Packet Core platforms
    .
  • Strong knowledge of
    EPC (LTE/4G)
    and
    5G Core (SA/NSA)
    architecture.
  • Proficiency in protocols and interfaces such as
    GTP, Diameter, SCTP, S1, S5/S8, S11, N4, N7
    .
  • Experience in
    network integration, migration, and optimization
    .
  • Familiarity with
    virtualized core solutions (vEPC, vEPC on NFV, 5GC on cloud platforms)
    .
  • Working knowledge of IP networking (routing, switching, QoS, firewalls).
  • Hands-on experience with
    OSS tools, Wireshark traces, KPIs, and performance analysis
    .
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
