We are looking for a highly organised and versatile Accounts & Office Manager to become the central pillar of our Brisbane operations. This is a rare hybrid opportunity to manage both the firm's finances and its daily administration in a part-time, flexible role. What You'll Actually Be Doing
This is a hands-on, autonomous role where your expertise will directly support our legal team. You will be responsible for:
Accounts & Bookkeeping:
- Managing all accounts payable and receivable, including preparing and sending invoices using Xero and ActionStep.
- Processing trust account transactions, including receipting and making payments through our legal software, ActionStep.
- Carrying out all necessary bank reconciliations, with a specific focus on monthly trust account reconciliations.
- Processing payroll and maintaining accurate employee records.
- Preparing figures for Business Activity Statement (BAS) reconciliation for external accountants.
Office Management & Administration:
- Acting as the central point of contact for all office management and administrative needs.
- Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our Brisbane office, from managing supplies to coordinating with building management.
- Managing relationships with suppliers, including IT support, couriers, and stationery providers.
- Providing high-level administrative support to our team of specialist lawyers as required.
- Assisting with the coordination of team events and meetings.
About You: What You'll Bring
We are looking for an experienced professional who can confidently manage the dual aspects of this role. You will have:
- A minimum of 12 months' experience in a bookkeeping/accounts role within a law firm is essential.
- Proficiency with Xero and legal accounting software; specific experience with ActionStep is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in an office management or senior administration role, ideally within a professional services environment.
- An exceptional eye for detail across both financial and administrative tasks.
- A proactive, organised, and resourceful mindset with the ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with lawyers, clients, and suppliers.
