Shopify UI/UX Developer Specialist

Are you a Shopify expert who combines clean code with thoughtful design and a sharp eye for user experience? Want to help grow some of Australia's most recognisable home and lifestyle brands?

KLEVA Brands is seeking a skilled UI/UX Shopify Developer to join our in-house ecommerce team based in our office in Bondi Junction, NSW. You'll work alongside creatives, marketers, and product developers to build and optimise high-performing Shopify Plus storefronts that connect with customers and drive growth.

We manage every step of the product journey in-house—from concept and design to national TV campaigns and ecommerce launches. As we continue to scale, we're looking for a developer who can turn big ideas into sleek, responsive, and conversion-focused digital experiences.

Main Responsibilities

  • Shopify Plus Development: Design, develop, and maintain responsive Shopify Plus websites, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.​
  • Customization & Integration: Customize themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Integrate third-party apps and services via Shopify's REST and GraphQL APIs.​
  • WordPress Management: Oversee and update basic WordPress brand sites, ensuring consistency with overall brand guidelines.​
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design and marketing teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.​
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and enhance website performance, focusing on speed, scalability, and responsiveness across devices.​
  • SEO & Accessibility: Implement best practices to ensure websites are optimized for search engines and accessible to all users.​
  • Version Control & Deployment: Manage codebase using Git and oversee deployment processes, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal site performance.​
  • Marketing Pixel Implementation: Set up and manage tracking pixels for platforms like Google Analytics, GTM, and Meta to support marketing initiatives.​

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience: 2–4 years in web development with a strong focus on Shopify Plus.​
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6+), and JSON.​
  • API Integration: Experience with Shopify's REST and GraphQL APIs.​
  • WordPress Familiarity: Basic experience managing and updating WordPress sites.​
  • Version Control: Solid understanding of Git and collaborative workflows.​
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and provide effective solutions.​
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to liaise directly with non-technical stakeholders.​

Advantageous Knowledge & Experience:

  • Modern Frameworks: Familiarity with , , or Remix JS.​
  • Database Knowledge: Experience with Prisma and databases like SQLite or PostgreSQL.​
  • CI/CD Processes: Understanding of continuous integration and deployment pipelines.​
  • Custom App Development: Experience in developing custom Shopify apps.​
  • Server Management: Familiarity with in-house servers and digital asset management.
