About the opportunity
As the Graphic Design Lead, you will be responsible for leading and managing all graphic design initiatives for Surf Life Saving Australia. You will oversee the creative output for key areas including Life Saving, Fundraising, and Sport, ensuring all visual content adheres to brand guidelines, aligns with business objectives, and reflects best practice communication.
This is a full-time position located at our Bondi Beach office in Sydney.
**Responsibilities**:
Positively contribute to the overall marketing and shared services teams, Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) and Surf Life Saving Foundation (SLSF) business requirements.
Maintain awareness and familiarity with emerging design trends and technologies to maximise the quality of SLSA design projects.
Day-to-day management of the design team, develop and manage workflow plans in conjunction with the priorities of the business, ensuring seamless execution of design projects.
Proactively contribute to strategic, production, and/or marketing group planning sessions and meetings as required across the organisation.
Collaborate with external stakeholders and agencies when necessary to enhance design outcomes.
Provide reporting as required, showcasing the impact and effectiveness of the graphic design efforts.
**Skills and Experiences**:
**To be successful in this role, you will need**:
Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant experience in graphic design and digital/visual design or related discipline.
A demonstrated high level of skill in creative design.
Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premier Pro, along with experience in production processes and preparing finished artwork for print, display, web, and digital.
Experience working within an in-house design team, preferably as lead/manager, with agency experience considered a plus.
Attention to quality, detail and process
Ability to liaise, mediate and negotiate with all levels of staff and management
Capacity to manage a high volume of work and remain calm under pressure while being an engaging and collaborative team member.
A good understanding of marketing, production, and brand principles, coupled with the ability to show initiative, prioritise competing work demands, meet deadlines, and effectively lead and influence others.
