Are you an experienced Senior Human Resources & Payroll officer who would like the opportunity to work within the health care industry where patience outcomes and care is our priority?

We have created a new role in Human Resources to support the APAC team, supporting circa 160 employees in Australia and Japan. This role will report to the HR Manager – APAC to deliver a seamless experience to all employees.

The Senior Human Resources & Payroll Officer/Generalist plays a key role in supporting the end-to-end management of the employee life cycle, as well as taking ownership for the processing of payroll and ensuring we remain compliant with local and global audit requirements.

What will you be doing?

  • Responsible for processing payroll, maintaining employee records, maintaining all relevant systems with accurate and timely data as well as reporting and ensuring compliance with payroll & HR policies.
  • Ensuring the data is captured in all systems accurately and by the global deadlines for reporting purposes.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including hours worked, wages, timesheets and deductions on file and in the payroll as required for audit purposes.
  • Preparation of adhoc reports for management (which could include leave, remuneration etc)
  • Manage onboarding and induction programs ensuring compliance with our quality system.
  • Support in driving and anchoring HR initiatives, policies, and procedures with employee and managers
  • Produce accurate HR Employment Contracts, letters relating to probationary periods, employee job changes/promotions and termination, etc.
  • Co-ordinate activities with the Global Recruitment Business Partner for local recruitment.
  • Regular monitoring and maintenance of office equipment and supplies, including proactively checking levels, reordering and restocking (where required).
  • General office support.

What Experience, Skills and Qualifications do you need?

  • Minimum of 2 years local HR experience managing the end-to-end HR life cycle of employees (Asia Pacific experience would be advantageous)
  • Minimum of 2 years with processing payroll and a solid understanding of payroll processes and Australian Awards
  • Working knowledge of NES Standards, Fair Work Act and HR and Payroll record-keeping compliance.
  • Working knowledge of WHS and Office Management compliance
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization and planning skills ensuring deadlines are met.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all areas of HR, WHS, payroll and System management.
  • Experience with both payroll system/s (Aussiepay) and HRIS system/s (Dayforce/workday) and Quality Systems.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow standard processes and procedures to ensure accurate and up to date record keeping.
  • University degree in Human Resources, Employee Relations and or Business majoring in Human Resources.
