The Opportunity

At Maven Partners, we connect exceptional people with exceptional opportunities. We're currently working with a leading national advisory firm who are looking to grow their Business Services team with a Manager or Senior Manager in their dynamic and high-performing practice in Melbourne.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on delivering more than just compliance work – you'll play a key role in helping SMEs, private family groups, and high-net-worth individuals with strategic business advice that truly adds value.

You'll work alongside supportive, forward thinking and experienced Partners and help lead a talented team, while continuing to develop your own technical, commercial, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:


• Managing a portfolio of clients and working directly with them alongside the Partners.


• Leading strategic business discussions and delivering advisory services tailored to client needs.


• Managing and mentoring a team, reviewing their work, and fostering their development.


• Reviewing and managing complex financial statements, consolidated accounts, and income tax returns.


• Conducting due diligence reviews and advising on tax planning and structuring issues (including Division 7A, CGT, GST, FBT and more).


• Setting budgets, managing workflow, and ensuring quality outcomes are delivered on time.


• Contributing to a positive team culture and bringing fresh ideas to the table.


• Building your external network and starting to develop a strong market presence.

Qualifications & Experience:


• CA or CPA qualification and previous experience in an accounting/advisory firm.


• Strong technical knowledge in business advisory, tax, and compliance.


• The ability to communicate clearly and confidently with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.


• A solutions-focused attitude, with a willingness to take ownership and see things through.


• Leadership qualities, with a desire to mentor and develop junior staff.


• Commercial acumen, with curiosity about the wider business issues your clients face.


• Strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to delivering great outcomes.
