The Gunshop Cafe is seeking an experienced Cook to work in a team of chefs, cooks & apprentices to deliver a fusion cafe menu at its venue in Chermside Westfield Shopping Centre.

Joining a well established business, boasting a popular fusion menu with Asian influence. This role offers the right candidate the perfect work/life balance rotating weekly schedule.

Located within Westfield Shopping Centre, the ideal candidate is someone who can handle the hustle and bustle of a busy kitchen, whilst overseeing their section and an apprentice. We are seeking a cook who;

Holds more than 2 years experience in a working cook role

Has the ability to plan menus, source ingredients and deliver within a dedicated food budget

Controls the food quality, portion size and presentation of each dish

Ability to communicate with FOH, Owners and Suppliers

Can confidently prepare and cook a wide variety of meal styles

Upholds the hygiene regulations

Ability to supervise and train staff

Ability to prepare, freeze, thaw, cook and preserve all foods types

Has effectively planned, co-ordinated and delivered on all aspects of the menu in a dining or catering establishment.

A ready to work attitude

A good solid work ethic

A strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in cooking a wide variety of food styles

Ability to work in across all sections of the kitchen, ie cold larder, fryer, grill, & pans

Demonstrated experience in managing the pass during peak periods

Pride in their personal presentation & their food presentation

A passion for learning and growing your skill set

All applicants must be approved to work 40+hrs per week in Australia.
