Steel Builders is seeking an experienced Transport Coordinator to drive the planning, coordination, and execution of our delivery operations. In this critical role, you'll balance customer expectations with operational capabilities, ensuring our products arrive safely, efficiently, and on time.

Delivery Planning and Coordination

  • Develop and implement delivery plans using sound judgment and real-time input from customers, project managers, and drivers
  • Schedule trucks, semi-trailers, and additional transport resources to meet delivery demands
  • Provide daily delivery updates to customers via SMS and other platforms
  • Adjust and optimise delivery schedules based on evolving priorities

Operational Execution and Logistics Support

  • Document and report on all delivery activities, including issues and applicable charges
  • Manage third-party logistics purchase orders and perform invoice reconciliation
  • Prepare and issue paperwork and loading tags for dispatch operations

  • Report hazards, near misses, and contribute to incident investigations
  • Uphold Steel Builders' policies and safety standards at all times

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in work planning within a steel or logistics environment
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to balance multiple priorities and develop efficient delivery solutions
  • Confident communicator with a talent for building relationships across all levels including third-party contractors
  • Detail-focused with exceptional multitasking and organisational skills
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and adaptable under pressure
  • Proficient in ERP systems and route optimisation tools
  • Advanced Excel and documentation skills
