About the role

Own the operational backbone behind the scenes. Light weekly admin is paired with one hands-on weekend each month as Floor Manager. Mix of remote admin and on-site time.

Hours at a glance

  • Average per month: ~48 hours
  • Typical month: 3 weeks at ~6.5 admin hours each + 1 Floor Manager weekend at ~28.5 hours
  • FM coverage pattern: usually 3 consecutive nights — Thu, Fri, Sat or Fri, Sat, Sun (rotates by fortnight)

Responsibilities

  • Publish and maintain staff rosters
  • Manage shift swaps and keep coverage balanced
  • Lead the floor one weekend per month (three consecutive nights)
  • Liaise with party promoters, confirm deliverables and assets
  • Build and circulate weekly event run sheets
  • Support decorating and event set-up
  • Oversee stock management (counts, ordering, cost control)
  • Manage cleaner standards and checklists
  • Coordinate maintenance (log issues, schedule trades, close the loop)

Skills and experience

  • Venue or events operations background, ideally late-night or high-traffic
  • Confident with rosters, shift swaps, run sheets, and stock control
  • Calm under pressure, solutions-focused, clear communicator (vendors and trades)
  • Comfortable with nights and weekends when required
  • Nice to have: Deputy (or similar), basic inventory skills, supervising casual teams
