Join Our Kitchen Team at Iimis Traralgon – Chef/Cook Wanted (25–35 hrs/week)

Are you passionate about food and ready to bring creativity to a dynamic kitchen? Iimis Traralgon, a well-established local favourite, is seeking a qualified Cook or Chef to join our energetic team.

We welcome applicants who are in the final 6–12 months of their Commercial Cookery course. For the right candidate who has completed their studies in Australia, visa sponsorship may be considered after a successful 3–6 month trial period.

Please note: Applicants must have valid Australian work rights. We are unable to consider overseas candidates without a current Australian work visa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes – from Aussie classics to Asian-inspired meals
  • Ensure consistent food quality and presentation, including catering to dietary needs
  • Manage inventory and ordering of kitchen supplies
  • Contribute to menu development and pricing
  • Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety compliance
  • Implement and monitor Food Safety Programs

Minimum Requirements

  • Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery
  • Valid Australian work rights
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings (min 3 evenings/week) and weekends (min 2 weekends/month)
