As a Cook at Fed Café, you'll play a key role in creating and delivering high-quality, café-style meals with a focus on fresh, local produce. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, contribute to menu development, and ensure consistent presentation and taste across all dishes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu items, with attention to quality, flavour, and presentation.
  • Assist in the planning and rotation of seasonal menus, incorporating local and boutique ingredients.
  • Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to maintain consistency and meet café standards.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of stock to maintain freshness and minimise waste.
  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen operations during service, maintaining a smooth workflow.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen in line with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Work closely with front-of-house staff to deliver timely and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Contribute creative ideas for daily specials and menu improvements that align with the café's style.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a cook in a busy café or restaurant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of breakfast and brunch-style menus, with the ability to produce dishes quickly without compromising quality.
  • Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health practices.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure during peak service hours.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to be part of a supportive team.
