As a Cook at Fed Café, you'll play a key role in creating and delivering high-quality, café-style meals with a focus on fresh, local produce. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, contribute to menu development, and ensure consistent presentation and taste across all dishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu items, with attention to quality, flavour, and presentation.
- Assist in the planning and rotation of seasonal menus, incorporating local and boutique ingredients.
- Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to maintain consistency and meet café standards.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of stock to maintain freshness and minimise waste.
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen operations during service, maintaining a smooth workflow.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen in line with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Work closely with front-of-house staff to deliver timely and exceptional customer experiences.
- Contribute creative ideas for daily specials and menu improvements that align with the café's style.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a cook in a busy café or restaurant environment.
- Strong knowledge of breakfast and brunch-style menus, with the ability to produce dishes quickly without compromising quality.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health practices.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure during peak service hours.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to be part of a supportive team.
