UN Youth NSW is part of UN Youth Australia, a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization dedicated to fostering grassroots engagement with the principles and goals of the United Nations through civic education programs. Entirely youth-led, we provide young Australians aged 17-25 with enriching opportunities to learn about international affairs, build leadership skills, and make a positive impact. We achieve this primarily through hosting event-based workshops and programs to high school students, fostering them with a sense of leadership and empowerment.
Role Description
Interested in empowering young people and exploring global issues? Becoming a Facilitator Volunteer with UN Youth NSW is your first step
To get started, you'll need to enroll in our Training Day here. This one-day session will equip you with the skills and knowledge to run interactive workshops, lead discussions on international affairs, and engage with high school students across NSW.
At the Training Day, you'll learn:
- How to facilitate engaging, impactful workshops for students.
- Techniques for fostering curiosity about global issues.
- Insights into our programs and your role as a facilitator.
- Tips for enhancing communication and leadership skills.
Upon completing the Training Day, you'll be eligible to volunteer at our exciting events, such as Model UN conferences, school visits, and public speaking competition days
Training Day Details: Saturday, 29th November
Time: 10:00am - 2:00pm
Free lunch provided
University of Technology, Sydney
If you can't make it in the day, come online We will send a link prior to training day.
Qualifications
- No prior experience is required—just a passion for learning and sharing knowledge
- You must have a valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) to volunteer.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop skills in facilitation, public speaking, and leadership while contributing to a meaningful cause.
