Queensland Raceway has an opportunity for a motivated person with a strong attention to detail. The role is working and leading  a small team, in which you will be responsible for a wide range of repairs and maintenance. You will need to be able to competently and enthusiastically manage the small maintenance team, to ensure that our busy venue is operating to it's full potential. A high level of leadership, autonomy and outcome focus will be required.

Must have initiative, self-motivated and be able to work well under pressure. As well as being experienced you will be customer focused and well groomed, able to communicate well with customers and fellow team members. Very versatile position with a wide range of duties from event set up/support to leading and managing the small team while  maintaining the leading raceway venue in Queensland.

The successful applicant must be able to work on a rotating roster of any five days out of seven, including most weekends. The roster will include evening shifts as required to support event delivery. You will be provided with two rostered days off a week as it best suits the event calendar.

Your primary responsibility will include:

  • Ensure the venue and raceway are prepared and set to support the event delivery team as required for the calendar of events.
  • Perform general grounds upkeep, including landscaping, mowing, and litter removal.
  • Perform basic handyperson tasks including cleaning, painting, lighting maintenance, clearing gutters, disposal of rubbish, checking and maintaining air conditioning, basic plumbing, and general repairs.
  • Manage and maintain raceway equipment and tools.
  • Maintain condition and cleanliness of raceway facilities, including amenities, buildings and overall venue.
  • Ensure toilets are clean and operational at all times
  • Provide event support through venue set up and pack away as well as during event support
  • At all times maintain high standards of internal and external appearance of the venue, buildings and racetrack.
