**Your role**

By joining the Air Force as Mission Controller, you’ll enter an Officer Aviation role. Mission Controller refers to the group of roles that work in a ground-based environment, and includes Air Traffic Controller and Air Battle Manager. In these roles, you’ll provide critical support to pilots using your critical thinking skills to manage aircraft and aerial battlegrounds from control towers or advanced electronic command systems.

**Your duties may include**:

- Working in control towers and radar control rooms to ensure airfields, aircraft and vehicles operate smoothly.
- Controlling the airspace above active battlefields.
- Performing critical surveillance using advanced systems to guide pilots and airborne assets to where they are needed.
- Operating radar, communications, and tactical data links to locate and identify targets.

As an Air Force Officer, you’ll also be trained to become an inspirational leader and mentor, equipped with highly sought-after management skills.

**Salary**  

Upon completion of initial military and employment training, you will enjoy a salary package starting from $80,857. 

**Location** 

Following training, you may be posted to one of the major Air Force bases around Australia, such as RAAF Base Amberley, Williamtown, or Edinburgh.  

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
