Are you passionate about creating nutritious and delicious meals for children aged 2-5? Adams Academy, a small childcare service in Penrith with 34 children, is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Chef to join our dynamic and supportive team.

Position Details:

  • Location: Penrith
  • Centre Size: 34 children
  • Hours: 5 days, morning shift 8am till 1pm
  • Working Environment: Dynamic, supportive, and child-centred
  • Requirements:
  • Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • First Aid 012 (or willing to obtain)
  • Relevant Food Safety and Handling Certificates or Commercial Cookery
  • Experience in preparing healthy, balanced meals for children aged 2-5
  • Ability to cater to diverse dietary needs and preferences
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently
  • Cert 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 2-5, adhering to dietary guidelines and individual needs
  • Ensure the kitchen and all food preparation areas meet health and safety standards
  • Collaborate with the centre team to create menus that align with the children's nutritional requirements and NSW Health Munch and Move
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including regular inventory checks and ordering supplies as needed
  • Foster a positive mealtime experience for the children
  • Participate in Children's Cooking experiences within the program
