Office Manager

North Melbourne, Victoria, Australia RSP Consulting Engineers Full time $38,000 - $42,000 per year

We're looking for an Office Manager to join our small, highly skilled and fun engineering team. If you are someone who is super organised, reliable, and who enjoys working in a small, close team, we would love to meet you.

This is a permanent, part-time position based in our office in North Melbourne. We are after someone who can commit to at least 2 working days, however, the workdays and hours are highly flexible.

Whether you've supported busy teams before or you're naturally someone who thrives on organisation, problem-solving, and keeping things running seamlessly — this role is for you. You'll play a key role behind the scenes, ensuring daily operations run smoothly so our engineers can stay focused on delivering great work.

The Role

As Office Manager, you'll be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of our day-to-day office operations, including:

  • General office management and upkeep — keeping supplies stocked, coordinating with external vendors, and maintaining a welcoming and organised space.
  • Managing calendars, scheduling internal meetings, and assisting with basic diary coordination for the leadership team.
  • Handling accounts-related admin including invoice processing, liaising with our bookkeeper, and assisting with payroll or timesheet queries.
  • Supporting the onboarding process for new employees (e.g., setting up desks, devices, documentation).
  • Coordinating team communications and occasional internal events or team lunches.
  • Organising and promoting social media platforms.
  • Supporting compliance documentation and internal records management.
  • Identifying and improving systems and processes to keep things running efficiently.

Experience and qualities we are looking for:

  • 2+ years of experience in office management, operations support, or administrative roles — experience in an engineering, technical or professional services environment will be highly regarded.
  • Confidence using standard office tech, cloud-based tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Xero, or similar) and a willingness to learn new systems.
  • Taking initiative in solving problems before they escalate.
  • A warm, professional communication style — which is highly important in both the office and working with clients.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage your time and responsibilities independently.

Why This Role?

  • Great experience: Working in a small business means your impact is direct and visible — you'll gain confidence in wearing multiple hats, working autonomously, and adapting quickly.
  • Flexibility: Enjoy the balance of part-time work with highly flexible hours and days, with the consistency of a permanent role.
  • Supportive Environment: Join a company that values professionalism, autonomy, and continuous improvement.
  • Room to Grow: As the company grows, there's potential to expand the role or take on new challenges.

Pay: $38.00 – $42.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 15 per week
