About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to oversee estimating and tender preparation across diverse fabrication and manufacturing projects. You'll work closely with design, workshop, and project teams to deliver accurate costings that ensure the business remains competitive while maintaining its high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review technical drawings, specifications, and client requirements to prepare detailed cost estimates
  • Evaluate labour, materials, subcontractors, and plant requirements for both custom fabrication and volume manufacturing projects
  • Engage with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to clarify scope and secure competitive pricing
  • Prepare tenders, budgets, and variations within required timeframes
  • Provide detailed handover documentation for project and production teams
  • Maintain and improve estimating systems, pricing databases, and processes

About You

  • Proven experience in estimating within fabrication, manufacturing, or related engineering environments
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of fabrication, welding, machining, and workshop practices
  • High attention to detail and strong numerical/analytical ability
  • Proficiency with Excel; exposure to ERP or estimating software is highly regarded
  • Effective communicator, able to liaise confidently with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
