About the Role
GF is seeking a driven and technically minded Business Development Manager (BDM) – Fabrication to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities for our engineering services and fabricated industrial & utility piping systems. You'll build strong, long-term customer relationships across mining, water infrastructure, utilities, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities
- New Business Development – Identify and pursue opportunities in fabrication markets. Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with company goals.
- Sales & Growth – Prepare proposals, quotations, and tender submissions; support negotiations to close profitable deals.
- Technical Expertise – Provide product/service recommendations based on engineering principles; stay updated on welding technologies, industry trends, and competitor activities.
- Account Management – Act as the main customer contact for projects, managing timelines, costings, and updates while maintaining long-term partnerships.
- Internal Collaboration – Work closely with the Fabrication team to ensure seamless project delivery. Contribute to cost estimations, material recommendations, and compliance with industry standards.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- 5+ years' experience in business development, technical sales, or account management within fabrication.
- Ability to think creatively and drive new opportunities.
- Proven success in securing and managing large industrial or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of piping systems, fabrication processes, and plastic welding techniques (Butt Fusion, Electrofusion, Socket Fusion) is highly advantageous.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
