As our team grows, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Joinery Estimator to assist with quoting and estimating tasks. This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience in joinery (assembly or factory work) and is ready to take the next step into estimating or has already started gaining experience in this area.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Junior Estimator, you will play a key support role in preparing accurate costings and quotes for custom joinery projects. You will work alongside experienced estimators, learning the process of reading plans, assessing materials and labour requirements, and liaising with internal teams to ensure smooth job preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely estimates and quotes for cabinetry and joinery projects.
  • Read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Liaise with the factory and procurement teams to ensure quotes align with production capabilities and materials on hand.
  • Perform quantity take-offs for materials, hardware, and labour.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, costs, and supplier pricing.
  • Support senior estimators in reviewing and updating cost templates and pricing models.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential:
- Previous experience in the joinery industry – ideally in factory assembly, installation, or estimating.
- Basic understanding of cabinetry components and joinery construction methods.
- Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn estimating software.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a collaborative team.
- Own reliable transport and current driver's licence.

Desirable:
- Previous experience with estimating software (e.g., Cabinet Vision, Cabinet Pro, or similar).
- Exposure to construction or architectural drawings.

Understanding of BOMs (Bill of Materials) and costing principles.
